Industrial waste water treatment with a Fuzzy Filter: A flexible cost- and space-saving solution

The industrial sector has to meet new challenges concerning requirements, which are more and more stringent on the effluent quality of discharged (waste) water. Especially parameters like suspended solids, phosphorus and micro pollutants are now in the focus of water and environmental authorities. Often a retrofitting of already existing treatment plants with additional treatment steps for a more efficient removal of the parameters mentioned above is required. For all of them a final filtration step is necessary.

Since the Fuzzy Filter can operate with filtration speeds up to 100 m/h and because of its synthetic compressible filter medium with an extremely high porosity and storage capacity, this technology is an outstanding, versatile, cost and space saving solution for retrofitting of industrial wastewater treatment plants. Due to its special properties the Fuzzy Filter is applicable for a wide range of particle separation, especially for higher influent concentrations on suspended solids, higher volume flows, changing operating conditions and limited space for the filtration stage....
