Laseroptical evaluation of the primary filtration stage of a two-stage filter system

Air which is used in technical applications must be, in most cases, free of impurity. These impurities should be removed as good as possible to ensure the safety of the systems.

Two-stage-filters are one possible way to remove a disperse phase. The first stage of these filter-types is used as a pre-cleaner to reduce the amount of dust which reaches the second stage. To achieve a longer life time of the filter system, the separation efficiency of the first stage has to be improved.

The aim of these investigations is to improve the life time of the filter system through adaptations of the cyclone stage. These adaptions should be based on the evaluation of the flow conditions in the first filter stage...
