Development of the performance test method for the plug-in type pulse jet dust collector

A relatively small dust collector with a built-in fan is widely used because it is easy to handle. As items for evaluating the performance of the dust collection system, changes in a pressure loss of the filter media and a gas flow rate with operation time. The performance of the dust collector used actually by users is that at the steady state. However, it takes very long time to evaluate the performance of the dust collector at the steady state. Since the performance of the dust collector depends not only on its specification but also on powder, carrier gas, temperature, pressure, and so on, it is practically difficult to obtain appropriately the information required by users.

Therefore, in this study, a method to reduce the time required to reach the steady state was examined, and a standard test method to measure the performance at the actual user’s use before shipment was proposed.
