Investigation of solvent and surfactant effect on the P(VDF-TrFE) fiber generations

In this study, we present a new type of electret material, poly(vinylidenefluoride-co-trifluoroethylene) [P(VDF-TrFE)], for the application of air filtration. The advantages of P(VDF-TrFE) are its high chemical resistance and polarization capability. To develop a P(VDF-TrFE) air filter, we conducted a series of studies on electrospinning parameters, including solvent compositions and the influence of surfactant. A ratio of 75/25 P(VDF-TrFE) powder was used as the core material. To investigate the contribution of viscosity, we use DMAC (Dimethylacetamide) and MEK (methyl ethyl ketone) with different ratio to adjust it.
