It is widely known that nanofibres enhance filter media performance by increasing filtration efficiency and improving de-dusting capabilities of the media when used in back pulse cleanable applications. However, nanofibres themselves cannot stand alone as a filter media due to lack of mechanical strength and mass and must be coated on a filter media in order to be converted into a pleat pack. Even though originally not designed for this purpose, conventional cellulose or synthetic filter media have been used until now often resulting in a combined filter media with unnecessary high-pressure drop and poor nanofibre attachment.
