Iron ore tailings dry stacking in Gogohar Sirjan

The mining industry has seen several significant dam failures in one hand and considerable needs for water in hydrometallurgy process in recent years. Dam failures are associated with errors in design, implementation, operation, and monitoring. Dewatered stockpiling (dry stacking) is a safer with higher water recoveries alternative to tailings dams, for tailings disposal; however, this method has not yet been used in iron ore mines in Iran, but shortage of water leads mine industries to reuse and return of water.
