Fraunhofer ITWM has years of experience in modelling and simulating filtration processes and production processes of filter media. The development cycle is shortened; the number of prototypes is reduced. Virtual nonwoven are generated, visualized and optimized with GeoDict. FilterDict performs filter efficiency and life time simulations in generated nonwoven. By modifying porosity, anisotropy, fiber diameter and shape, crimp etc. and repeated simulation, improved media designs are achieved. SUFIS designs filter housings and finds optimal locations for the filter media.
